Another issue some new realtors have is that they have to sell themselves to succeed. There's a lot of competition out there, realtors need to be able to convince potential buyers and sellers that they're going to be their best choice to help them buy or sell a house. Many real estate agents hire trainers, specializing in real estate, to get them through those first few years.

Are you comfortable talking with new people and making them feel confident in their abilities? Have you ever worked in sales before? Did you like it? Realtors need to be well-organized and able to answer a myriad of client questions. Real estate agents will need to be trained in order to have a working knowledge of the basics of property tax computation, mortgage lending, and home renovation. Are you comfortable hiring a real estate trainer, in the event things don't go your way?

They need to be able to research a property's history, both in assessments and previous sales, and they'll need to learn a little about their area's zoning laws. Much of this information is now available online, but that brings up another question, is the new realtor comfortable with computers?

Real estate has become very web-dependent, realtors will likely need to be trained on how to best utilize several computer programs to be an effective and knowledgeable real estate agent. There are real estate classes and trainers availiable in all these subjects, and a wealth of information on real estate websites, so new realtors are not alone in this endeavor, but they have to be computer-savvy and motivated enough to learn it.



One of the ways a new real estate agent will stand out from their competition is having ready answers to their clients' questions; they want to know their realtor is a detail-oriented real estate professional who will dot every 'i'.
